The History of Light

If it takes 7,000 years
For the light of the Eagle Nebula
To reach me,

How long does it take
The unobserved light of my body
To reach you?

Someone told me
Yesterday all light is a picture
Of ancient history.

Are you thinking the light from your body takes more, or less, than 7000 years? And in either case, once your body light reaches me, is it already “ancient history”?

What’s the line? Something along the lines of, “Humanity invented time so that everything doesn’t all happen at once.”?
